Description[Dr. William Rainey Harper, first president of the University of Chicago, delivered the dedicatory address at the cornerstone laying for the Law School. Theodore Roosevelt (seated left) made his first visit to Chicago as President of the United States and was given an honorary LL.D. degree. Among those attending the dedication: President Roosevelt; Dr. Harry Pratt Judson, art, literature, and science faculties dean; Dr. Frank F. Abbott, Professor of Latin; President Harper; and, university chaplain Dr. Charles R. Henderson.]
